Task Force on Infrastructure
Draft Discussion Paper on Integrated Transport Policy


In pursuance of the directions of the Prime Minister, a Task Force on Infrastructure was constituted under the Chairmanship of Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission on 30th October, 1998. This Task Force, among its terms of reference, was also asked to formulate an Integrated Transport Policy.

The Task Force on Infrastructure has authorised release of the following draft for eliciting wider public discussion. Your valuable and reasoned views and comments are solicited by 7th April, 1999 on the suggestions contained in this draft discussion paper and on any other aspect of the Integrated Transport Policy. It is clarified that the draft discussion paper is neither legally binding nor does it in any way confer any legal right on anybody. The Task Force on Infrastructure reserves its absolute right to choose or adopt in any way the views and suggestions made in finalising its recommendations on the subject.
