| Reports submitted by the Special Subject Groups to the Council |
|
The Council on Trade and Industry is an institutionalised framework that has been created for partnership between Government and business. The partnership flows from the Governments overall philosophy of economic reforms. The Council has constituted six Special Subject Groups as follows :-
These Subject Groups have submitted their Reports, which have been placed on this Web Site. The reports set out the broad agenda for action over a wide gamut of subjects. The Prime Ministers Council on Trade and Industry has decided that the Reports should be put on the Internet. Further, FICCI, CII and ASSOCHAM would be requested to hold seminars and discussions both in Delhi and elsewhere on these Reports to secure a broad public consensus. It is hoped that the placement of the material on the Internet will lead to a healthy and enlightened public debate on important economic issues. Such public discussions will help in devising a coherent implementation plan and will contribute to de-politicising the agenda for economic reforms in India. |
